NordicTrack Exercise Equipment – A Company That Exceeds Your
Expectations
Nordic Track is a great company that manufactures and handles the sale of
ellipticals. Nordic Track exercise equipment was popularized in the
eighties with their patented ski machine. It seemed like nearly everyone
had one in their living room. With their smooth feel and just the right
amount of resistance, it made for the perfect workout.
Nordic Track began to expand their line for both novices and athletes in
training. Over the years, though, they have expanded into other equipment
including cross training devices, treadmills, and, of course,
Nordic Track home ellipticals.
Nordic Track's slogan, “Life's an Adventure. Get Ready For It.” symbolizes
their company goal which is to provide equipment to get you in shape for
whatever adventurous path you choose whether it be as extreme as rock
climbing or as simply as weight loss. Nordic Track is now a division of
Icon Health and Fitness, Incorporated who also own
Reebok Fitness,
Weslo, and
Proform. They were acquired
by the company when they filed for bankruptcy in 1998.
Icon – The Parent Company
Icon Health and Fitness is dedicated to industry innovation. The
company started in 1977 when two Utah State business majors attempted to
finance their education through an import company. They stumbled into the
exercise industry with trampolines, and as they began to research the
industry as a whole, they began to acquire companies in trouble, including
Nordic Track. The company as a whole has more than four thousand employees
on a world wide basis, and they continue the original Nordic Track
commitment to perfect fitness.
The company has eleven locations, and in 2005, they produced nearly four
million units of fitness equipment. All of their products meet the
industry standard by being ISO 9001 certified.
